The global Cloud computing market size is expected to grow from USD 371.4 billion in 2020 to USD 832.1 billion by 2025, at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 17.5% during the forecast period. While technology spending in Asia-Pacific has increased, the setback due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic is imminent. The cloud technology adoption is expected to increase in sectors where the working from home initiative is helping to sustain enterprise business functions. In this Special Interest Group (SIG) session on Cloud Adnan Rasheed will give an overview on getting started with IBM Cloud. While Dr. Muhammad Usman Awais will provide an overview on What AWS can offer to education community in Pakistan and how it can help students in kickstarting their careers in Cloud computing.
Dr. Muhammad Usman Awais is currenlty an assistant professor at FAST-NUCES Lahore. He did his PhD from Vienna University of Technology in 2015. He has been teaching Operating Systems and Cloud Computing for the past couple of years. He is the first AWS faculty cloud ambassador from Pakistan and is working to promote the culture of cloud computing in Pakistan.
Adnan is leading the Cloud Business Unit at SPS. He is responsible for the business growth and taking advantage of the unprecedented opportunities available in cloud space. He also laid the foundation of four practices within the cloud group; Pubic Cloud, Hybrid Cloud, DevOps, and Cloud Classic. He is also providing leadership to Internal Business Process Automation and IT Operations for SPS.
