Availability Monitoring is to create synthetic tests that monitor the availability and performance of your web applications from different public and private locations around the clock.
Create tests with Availability Monitoring. Configure your tests to run at defined intervals and chosen locations. Download and deploy your own custom points of presence (PoPs) on local or private servers. Run tests from 15 public PoPs at the following locations.
When you have created and configured your tests, you can then view availability and performance data for your applications on the Availability Monitoring dashboard.
The Resource Monitoring task provides user interface that you can use to monitor the performance of the hosted services and servers in your cloud enterprise infrastructure. With the Resource Monitoring task, you can monitor most of the metrics supported by Resource Measurement Facility, create and save custom views of the metrics, and display real-time data as bar charts. This make the administrators experience more proactive and responsive to provide the enterprise applications uptime commitments.

Backup and recovery refer to the process of backing up data in case of a loss and setting up systems that allow that data recovery due to data loss. Backing up data requires copying and archiving computer data, so that it is accessible in case of data deletion or corruption. Data from an earlier time may only be recovered if it has been backed up.
