Course Description
This course introduces web programmers and developers to the access control capabilities of Tivoli Access Manager. The central authentication, authorization and audit functionality of Tivoli Access Manager takes away the need for each application to develop and maintain these functions. Besides, saving precious developer time, it also provides organization a platform for central access control policy formulation and enforcement for regulatory compliance. It also makes it easy for the programmers to work with the infrastructure support teams to trouble shoot and resolve application integration with TAM for e-business saving valuable time. This enables organizations to maximize return on the Tivoli Access Manager for e-business by reducing the development, troubleshooting and application deployment time for mission-critical applications.
Objectives
After completing this course, students will be able to accomplish the following:

Describe the central access control capabilities of Tivoli Access Manager for e-business and how it integrates with the larger Tivoli Identity Management solution suite.

Describe Tivoli Access Manager for e-business architecture including user registry, Policy server, Authorization server, and Web Enforcer.

Describe different types of web applications including objects to be protected and mechanisms to track user authentication, authorization and audit.
